Creative Artisans Gallery in Ballina showcases handcrafted art and craft by artists and artisans from the Northern Rivers. The gallery also operates an online store, giving visitors a way to explore and support the work of local creators beyond a gallery visit.
The range includes one-off Christmas ornaments and wall or door decorations by Ballina-based artisan Janice Crouch, who makes pieces from materials such as pegs, shells and nuts. Other featured work includes Braidin Dasnov’s hand-coloured lino prints, inspired by Australian beaches, foreshores and coastal landscapes, alongside Kay Knights’ paintings, printmaking and sculpture. Her work draws on gardens, animals, the natural world and the colours and forms of the Northern Rivers.
The gallery’s broader aim is to encourage and promote unique, high-quality handmade work, while helping emerging artisans develop their skills and share their creations. It also runs relaxed, fun workshops for individuals and groups, covering different artistic pursuits. That makes it suitable for visitors interested in regional art, people looking for a distinctive handmade piece, and groups or solo participants wanting to take part in a creative activity. The association has been supporting artistic expression and community arts in the region since 2014.
Spot Score
The Spot Score is our composite of five signals — two about the venue's standing with visitors and three about how complete and current this listing is. It is not a visitor rating and not a verdict on the food or the experience. The 5.0 from 10 reviews is Google's visitor rating, shown separately and never altered by us.
