Mullumbimby Civic Memorial Hall

Mullumbimby Civic Memorial Hall is a substantial community venue in the centre of Mullumbimby, Byron Bay, with a history dating back to 1929. Built to honour local residents who lost their lives in the First World War, it remains an important part of the town’s civic and cultural life.

The hall is available for concerts and plays, as well as weddings, lectures, meetings, parties, conferences and visual art exhibitions. Its capacity is listed at 270 seated or 400 standing, making it suitable for both smaller gatherings and larger community events. A stage, audio-visual equipment, air conditioning, kitchen, multiple rooms and gardens or surrounding outdoor areas are among the listed facilities.

The building was closed in 2003 because of deterioration, then refurbished and altered between 2007 and 2008 before officially reopening in September 2008. Today, it offers a practical setting for live performances, celebrations, workshops and formal events, with bookings managed through Byron Shire Council. It is best suited to organisers planning a concert, wedding, exhibition, class, meeting or community gathering rather than visitors seeking a regularly programmed entertainment venue.
