Lighthouse Beach is one of Ballina’s main beaches, stretching for approximately 500 metres along Lighthouse Parade in East Ballina. Its northern end is protected from northerly winds by the headland, while walking tracks at either end provide views towards North Wall and Ballina Headland.
The beach is popular for swimming and surfing, with the northern section patrolled during school holidays and on summer weekends. That makes it a practical choice for families, while the open beach and nearby tracks also suit solo visitors, walkers and anyone looking for an easy coastal stop. Conditions and patrol coverage can vary, so visitors should check local signage when they arrive.
There is plenty of car parking, and a kiosk overlooking the beach is available for a coffee or something to eat. The beach is also close to accommodation options including Quality Hotel Ballina, Discovery Parks Ballina and Grandview Apartments. With accessible parking, a useful kiosk and views extending along the coast, Lighthouse Beach works well as a relaxed Ballina outing rather than a destination requiring a full-day plan.
Spot Score
The Spot Score is our composite of five signals — two about the venue's standing with visitors and three about how complete and current this listing is. It is not a visitor rating and not a verdict on the food or the experience. The 4.8 from 22 reviews is Google's visitor rating, shown separately and never altered by us.
