The Space Cowboy Gallery

The Space Cowboy Gallery in Byron Bay presents bold one-of-one paintings and limited-edition prints by Australian artist Chayne Hultgren, known professionally as The Space Cowboy. The artist’s background gives the gallery a story beyond the paintings. Hultgren says he is based in Byron Bay and began painting almost every day during the COVID lockdown, after making art on the floor with his daughter. Before becoming a full-time visual artist, he performed internationally, touring more than 40 countries, appearing on television and setting 56 Guinness World Records. That history informs the movement, confidence and surprise in the work, which has since been shown at art fairs across Australia and New Zealand and received multiple People’s Choice awards.
